I need to start my Christmas shopping. I usually have it done months in advance but this year I have been really busy. I was thinking about getting the males in the family some new knives but I'm still debating on which ones to get. I would love to go the custom route but I think the time frame wouldn't work out being this late in the game. I do have a few requirements though.

-Fixed or Folder it doesn't matter
-No Spyderco Delica's or Endura's.(Got them engraved ones years ago)
-No assisted opening folders.
-Would like to keep the cost below $100 per knife.

I was thinking about the Becker Necker but I know a few of my brothers already have them. So, any ideas?

I thought about the Izula but I would run into the same problem with the Becker Necker with a few already having them. I'm surprised I didn't look into BHK:faint: :supergrin:

What do you think about the Black Jack Neckers? IIRC, they are a sister company to Bark River right?

I like Blackjack Knives. Micarta scales are extra just like with the Izula so price is about the same as a ESEE package. I like the look of the blade, the jimping and the fact that it is not coated (hate coated :steamed and the fact that it is a convex edge is a BIG plus in my book but some folks CANNOT sharpen their way out of a paper sack (plus one for ESEE FFG). Keep your giftees skills in mind with convex edges, it will take a little training to sharpen properly.

Give it a shot and have them post a review!

That's true, I didn't think about Bark River/Black Jack and their use of convex edge's. I'm still not set on a choice yet but the Black Jack Necker's are still towards the top so far. Yeah, I totally forgot about BHK and the funny thing is that I was looking at their site not too long ago. :faint:

Yeah, I looked at them but for some reason I just can't get over the pry bar on the handle but the bottle opener looks ok on the Becker Necker go figure. :dunno:
