What size of wine do you buy? Do anybody buy anything larger than a magnum or double magnum for comsumption? Is their any price advantage with going with a big bottle?

My local grocery store normally offers a few pennies saved with their magnum selections vrs the std bottle size, but the wine-liquor stores don't offer anything saved for buying a larger bottle.

I've been told by people that know that you need 750ml bottle per guest per evening. Some drink more, some less, but that's a good gauge. Scale accordingly. I'll buy a 1.5L bottle for my wife and I and we'll have some left over the next day.

It depends what kind of wine you like. The wine we like doesn't come in magnums. We buy 750s.
