Any help would be great. I have an IBM T30 laptop which froze on me so I shut it off. Now when I turn it on I get a blue screen which at the top says Unmountable Boot volume. So thinking it is my boot.ini file is messed up I plop in a windows xp cd and hit f12 from the start to boot from a temporary device - and choose the cd rom. Nothing happens - it says Media failure and restarts again to reveal the blue screen unmountable boot volume. The windows xp cd is not mine but from a new package because I got this laptop when in college from their program and they didn't give me a cd - guess they had some package deal or some license. Anyone know what is going on with this or am I screwed? I dont mind taking off the OS and all the files and installing a new Xp - i have two new brandnew disks here never used Xp programs. But don't know how to go about doing that either. Thanks in advance.
