You mean "Windows Explorer has stopped working"? I've seen that a couple of times on a new Core i7 box, Vista 64bit. Haven't figured out why yet, only had that PC a few days now.
I get the same issue. Frustrating :steamed: I have to reload page to get it to work. Turned off Windows Firewall and it seems to work now
I'm using Comodo firewall instead of Windows firewall. Still happens sometimes.
Use Mozzilafox fire like I do, no problems in vista
That happens a lot with IE when you have spyware loading as an add-on (BHO).

I've used FF for 10+ years. My error messages says "Windows Explorer", not Internet Explorer. WE controls the desktop envirnoment, icons, right clicking on icons, etc.

Your right, that's totally different. I'll have to think on that one.
Since it's a new PC, I used Restore back to the original config. Seems to have fixed the issue, although ATI Catalyst Control Center no longer launches (no big surprise there, never had much luck with ATI Catalyst). For now, I've reloaded Avira, but am using the Vista64 firewall only. Will see how this goes.
When I bought my HP, the first one I ever bought over the counter (decided to go legit with the operating system, I have a XP pro disk I can load on any system with out registering along with service pack 2).
I could not get Vista service pack 1 to load on my system.
After a few emails back in forth between me and Microsoft, they told me I should repair it using my original disk but being an over the counter PC I told them I didn't have one.
Which they promptly sent me a Vista disk, but the thing is my operating system went from Home Premium to Ultimate. I kind of fibbed about my operating system.
But get this, do ask me why but they sent me 2 disks, one 32 bit one 64 bit.
So MS took good care of me.
I had the same thing happen to one of my comps running vista(32).
It happened all of a sudden as if it were due to an upgrade or a new problem.
I finally had to load a new internet explorer which was the same version that I was running (I.E.8) and that solved the problem.
I use FF as well, no problems. Hate Vista, waiting to upgrade to Windows 7. Vista reminds me of going from guages in cars to idiot lights. It hides what I really need to know. Still haven't figured out how to get to "My computer" to see my drives, files, etc....
