Comcast uses a POP/SMTP server to get your mail to you.

Configure Outlook Express (or Outlook) or another E-mail client (such as Thunder bird or Eudora) to get your messages from the POP server.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't call M$ and ask them to help you muck about in the registry.

POP is for incoming and should be: mail.comcast.net
SMTP is for outgoing and should be: smtp.comcast.net

Note: You will need your username and password to enter it into the client of your choice, Comcast should be able to reset your password if you don't know it.

Once the config is complete and tested as working you will now have the option to change your E-mail default program to whichever one you chose to install.
