So folks who say they are Green, or Green is Great, I ride my bicycle for excercise, it is not a GREEN VEHICLE. Here is why:

    1. Tires are made of Kevlar & Rubber.

    2. Tubes in Tire are Butal Rubber made with Sap from a Ribber Tree, that is refined, work, then you have machines that make the Tubes.

    3. Tubes have presion made stems made from Metal, again made in factory's with machine tools.

    4. Last we have Caps to cover fill values, made of Plastic that is by product of Oil.

    5. Frame is Carbon Fibre, made from many product including synthetics, and petro chemical.

    6. Fork is Alumium, and it took many machines to manufacturer.

    7. Groupo is (Derailers, Casette, Chain, Crank Arms, Hubs, Stem, Handle Bars, Seat Post, Bearings, Misc Nuts, Bolts, Screws, Grease, Oil, Cables etc.) all took machines to manufacturer.

    8. Seat/Saddle is Leather, Synthetic Frame, and last Metal Rails. Again it took machines to manufacturer.

Point is my Bicycle might not burn any energy to operate, uses Gas, Oil, or Electricity to operate, just Peddle power.

Joe's Solar Panels, and Windmills can not produce the energy to build this simple product a Bicycle.

If you want to do the REAL DEAL GREEN THING I SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING.

Get out of town, go to areal rural area, shed your clothing, take a small pocket knife, and fire starter. Your are allowed two items. Do the Naked & Afraid thing. Build a shelter, live of the land, and do the cave man thing. Enjoy your adventure. BTW there will be no medic to call, no producer to say I want to go home. Your on your own, have fun, enjoy the TRUE GREEN LIFE STYLE.

You can't stop drilling 100%. We need crude for lubricating oils, petrochemicals, asphalt for the road and tar for the roof tops. In the rustbelt the sun does not come out for a week sometimes in the winter and the wind does not always blow. 100% no fossil fuels is a dream. Hell, guitar strings, clothes, rugs and cell phones are made from crude.

Car / truck tires are made from crude. Too hilly round here for bikes. But if you can roll, sure go ahead and pedal. Just watch out for Antifa picking you off.

What about freezing sub zero heat and A/C when it is 100? And the charging. A zillion cars waiting 20 minutes each to charge? God forbid a brownout from charging overloads.

They keep mentioning solar. OK, solar is fine if you got sun year round. But in the winter and even summer, we have days and sometimes many days with no sun. No wind. Now what?

Remember the Green Deal is for everyone except those exempted from it. Think of how GREAT ACA aka Obamacare was in the sales pitch. Wonder why Congess Members made themself exempt from the such great healthcare plan.

I am sure people in power will have eight cylinder cars, private jet at their disposal, great a/c & heat at home & in the office. This Great GREEN THING is just great for the little people.

If you raise taxes, then use that money to pay people large salaries for jobs that you made up created, is that a good thing?

It reminds me of the liberals plan for free energy.

One big difference between Liberals and Conservatives is the concept of acceptable reality.

The obvious answer to me? Let the market decide.

    Green is not there yet.

If it is fully costed end to end it may never get there. Was adding burned out twisty bulbs to the consumer trash flow counted in to their end to end cost? Supposedly hazardous waste because mercury. Any provisions anywhere for safe disposal?

Several years ago the TV show Modern Marvels had an episode on '"Oil". Only about the last 10 minutes was devoted to gas and diesel fuel. We simply could not exist in our modern would without oil.

Agreed, there is also cost in disposing windmill blades, they don't last forever.

There should come a time when fossil fuels are scarce enough to make going green a necessity. Not now.

Fossil fuels buy us the time to make green viable, IMO.

Anyone tried mounting a Windmill on top of their electric car or truck and using it to keep your batteries charged ? That way you could drive forever and never have to re-charge your batteries .

Put a sail on it: There are museums in NE where you could steal a 'prairie schooner' as alternate transport :)

Biden is nothing but political double talk. He has been doing it for 47 years.

Wind turbines kill more birds than DDT. Remember the book Silent Spring which called attention to DDT and bird killing and all the furor it created? Wind turbines are worse.

But if Biden was ever asked about this, his reply would be, "Well, when I'm president we will just stop the turbines from killing the birds." He does not say how or give any details, it is just we would make it clean, we would make it safe, I would tell China what to do, I would tell North Korea what to do, blah blah blah.

Amazingly... Even by the standards of politicians, Joe Biden has taken talking in platitudes to new depths... o_O

Oil, Coal, Solar, Windmills, Dams, and Neuclers generated electricity.

Green is not Green is just make Nuckleheads with NO BRAINS to think with not understand how thing really happen.

Even a sail boat like Christopher Columbus, took a long men many many hour to contruct even with hand tools. These sail boat did not appear by doing a Magic Trick 1, 2, 3. A sailboat appeared.
