Will wings become the next french fries?

Krystal has been offering wings as a for special combos for sometime now, so do you think other chains will follow? If it does will there be a greater change in culinaryism as well?

    What say you?

Indeed, but Krystal is able to substitute three drumettes for fries for the same price. It depends on the clientele base strait up .

I love chicken wings, for real. I'm like a 40-year-old female school teacher who falls for a 15-year-old male student when it comes to those little wing drummettes and I can't get enough of that meaty and succulent bone in my mouth. I prefer my wings unsauced as well. No buffalo, no teriyaki, no honey BBQ, just straight fried.

I can't even remember the last time I ordered french fries.

I pretty much don't be gettin' fries as well, or ordering a combo. Most FF places have two sandwiches for 5 or six bucks now, so I just get that and bring my own water ,straight up.

Wings used to be so cheap.
I remember we would got to a sports bar back in the late 90's and they had 10 cent wing night on Tuesdays. Ahh, those were the days.

I wonder if Krystal's is looking at a side of wings as a long term source of profit or a short term device to increase sales and traffic.

Supply and demand. Velveeta used to be cheap, but then suburbanites started listening to the urban crowd when making mac n cheese , then Velveeta became Versace.

How insulting. Wings will never be relegated to the side dish category that fries have always been.

This "special combo" is like saying I want spaghetti with a side of T-Bone.

I was in the grocery store a while back - I see a pack of just wings - I compared the cost per pound to what they were selling boneless skinless breast for - and wings were almost as much per pound.

    That seemed crazy.

I almost always have a steak with spaghetti -

To me spaghetti is a side dish - unless it has meatballs.

From what I heard back in the days the wings were essentially thrown away, than the whole craze started in Buffalo.
