What if Bruce Jenner wrote a letter asking for the name to stay the same? Liberal mind blown!

I'm less concerned about the name and more concerned about access. That is among the most impressive natural structures I've ever seen.

I think the national monument's official name should be whatever the state of Wyoming wants. OTOH, the Great Sioux Nation can call it whatever they like, since they are not a part of the US of A (are they?)

Personally, I like to think of it by the Grays' name for it - "dee-dee-dee-dee-DEE!"

I say call it Obama's tower, in other words don't change the name.

Doesn't the name Devil's Tower violate separation of Church and State?

I feel uncomfortable every time I see a picture of it and realize what it's name is.

Where is the ACLU? Where is Mikey Weinstein?

What if it were named God's tower?

    Regards,
    Happyguy :)

If we change the name, the Close Encounter aliens won't be able to find it on a map again when they return.

Funny, i was watching a cable show last night, old show. Native, forgot which tribe was saying their language did not contain the word devil, only bad god. I'm ok with Bad God Mountain.

Wyoming is a beautiful state with lots of national treasures and iconic natural landmarks---Devil's Tower being a noteworthy example. Hopefully the historical name will remain unchanged. Renaming it "Bear Lodge" to appease a relative few doesn't make a lot of sense. Then again, most of what we see in the news lately doesn't make a lot of sense.

But hey Wyomingites, at least you can still go motor boatin' in the Grand Tetons (if you know what I mean).

    It will be changed if:

    The Devil is white.

    The Devil is Anglo-European.

    The Devil is a Conservative.

The Devil is a Confederate soul.

    The Devil is Pro-Constitution.

    Oh the hell with it!

Yep, and Utah has the Valley of the Gods. Nice drive if you're ever out by Monument Valley.

Would love to make it out that way. The kids and I few years back went to Yellowstone, and seen everything from South Dakota on. It was a great trip, Devils tower, and pikes peak were amazing.

With this trend of renaming great landmarks to their purported original native American labels, I'm just waiting for the day some place gets re-tagged "Two Dogs ___________."
