I just bought a stainless rod from Glockmeister, and I'm wondering if the parts rubbing together will wear the hole in the slide. If it wears the rod, no big deal. I have another $24. Do you lube these things? It's captive, so I'd have to lock the slide back and put some lube on the rod. Oil, or Glock lube? None?

    Thanks.

I would put a VERY light coat of oil on it. I've never heard of them wearing against the slide, but I guess there's always a first time for everthing.

will not wear the slide. no need to worry. no need to put any lube, but i believe that any metal to metal rub should be slick. I generally just put on drop of oil on my fingers, rub them together, lightly just rub the rod, put the spring on there, place it in a spring clamp, put a drop of blue loctite on there and put it together.

Crap. I forgot to order blue loctite. Back to the store.

Thanks for the replies. That's what I was looking for.
