Wife just got an email from her manager encouraging employees to donate to a fund to help bail out protestors and the company will match dollar for dollar!

    Nuts!

Told my wife to respond she’ll be donating to police and firefighters!

I thought politics was one of the golden three you weren’t supposed to talk about at work.

Just hit me how much our culture has changed in my short lifetime.

You might re-advise her not to say anything at all if she likes her job.

It's not really a matter of politics and every company has pushed out a generic, "We value our diverse workforce. We stand together," message at this point.

If you don't believe in it, just ignore it.

I feel there’s a difference between generic messages and being encouraged to donate bailing out protestors.
    That’s just me.

Those aren't protestors, those are criminals. There's a reason they got arrested.

    Exactly;

The people getting arrested are not "protesters", they are RIOTERS.

Don't fall into the Liberal trap of mislabeling things so they are more palatble, like " common sense gun safety" instead of gun control, undocumented immigrant instead of illegal alien, protest instead of riot...

What kind of business is this?

    a non- profit?
    Democrat fund raising?
    Affirmative action advocacy?

I can’t even imagine one that doesn’t sound stupid

My standard response(s) any time we are asked to donate money to a cause We don't agree with.

My father is in poor health and needs help with his drug copays....the copay is about $3800 every other month.

In these uncertain times we are starting an emergency fund

its always best to stay out of this at work

I honestly would ask them, "do you mean protesters or looters?", and follow it up with, "I support the protesters but are you saying they were arrested by accident or were they arrested for stealing or breaking into our fellow businesses?"

Privately I'd ask whom ever sent that email, "If I break into a store tonight and get busted will you bail me out?"

    Precisely....

I think we are all in favor of protesting, which is one of the most American things a person can do, while none of us,( hopefully) would support rioting- breaking things, looting, setting fires, attacking people, etc-......

If they are doing it is for virtue signalling and they are likely proud of it. There is probably something on their website announcing it but now I his wife is linked to it so yeah probably would not say more.
