What's so profoundly sad is that most if the city council will be too dense to recognise the irony of the documents contents.

If the councilmen didn't know the amswers to those questions already, then they have no business trying to tell the chief how to run his department. Let the experts do their job and just get them the money they need to do it.

I know several SPD Officers, a lot of good people over there. You couldn't triple my salary to work there. Unfortunately the mentality their elected officials have is like a cancer that is spreading and has taken hold in many other jurisdictions.

Request an immediate dog pile by city council members to hack on until suspect is exhausted and compliant?

So hrs and hrs of time are wasted writing this up. Reviewing it, hopefully legal also reviewed, signed off...
Because if ONE thing is not perfect, correct it will be PROOF (of something)
Let the dang investigation happen. Media will spout facts. (As slanted as they can using rumor as fact)

    This is sad.
When I was a kid I wanted to work for Seattle PD.

I got as far as "consent decree". That saddened me and made me sign off. That was the Obama admin's way of weaseling their interpretation of how things should be run into larger cities: "sign this or we bankrupt you by suing".

I feel for all the officers that must work under such conditions. Perhaps the council-people should do some ride-alongs to familiarize themselves with their wonderful officers and the lower side of city life.

We were under a DOJ consent decree far before O took office.

Then again, as they say where I'm from: "we be ****ed up"!

Same here. There is an invisible curtain that descends across NE 145th Street. Good group of folks trying to do an impossible job in a city that decries and reviles them, yet desperately needs them more than ever.

I could see a $30K jump in salary per year if I were to lateral there. Not worth it as the city continues the slippage downhill.
