Yeah, I saw a can blow and bounce off the front windshield and go out the back. Cans don't like that heat.

"An insurance salesperson, Karmen said she's heard of other things exploding in a hot car, like pop cans, wine bottles and even loaded guns"

Never heard of loaded guns exploding in hot cars. nice of them to warn us about that.

I've kept a loaded 12 gauge in my truck for years, in all kinds of weather. Never had an issue with it.

Last summer had a can of orange spray paint explode in the back of my truck, took a week of scrubbing stuff to get rid of it. I moved a tripod tube a few days ago to get a manhole lid tool out and yep, orange paint all over it and the underside of the tube.

It was in direct sunlight in August, and was just a freak occurrence, but did make me cut down a 5 gallon bucket to keep all the spray stuff in.

She's full of ****. In the hottest of summers here in phoenix, my vehicle will get up to 160-170 degrees inside. It takes closer to 400 degrees for a cartridge to "explode."

Yep. Never an issue here, either.

She sounds like a ******* kook (I know, that's redundant) who's brain has been in a hot car too long.

I know they blow up (ever throw a full can of hairspray in a fire? Not only do they blow magnificently, but the gas is very flammable and makes a great fireball), but those pictures look very fake.

I was once driving home from the supermarket and head a loud "POW!". I looked around but didn't see anything. Then another. Then another. Then I realized that they were coming from inside the car!

All of my rolls of biscuit dough blew up.

    And made a magnificent mess.

Sigh. People....it was a 2 minute segment that I highly doubt took more than 10 or 15 minutes to get on location and film. I don't think it was a priority of hers to go online and research "ammunition exploding temperatures" for a 2-minute news segment.

    Christ Almighty. Grow up folks.

When I was young, I left a can of BBs for my Red Ryder in the back of my Mom's car.

She freaked out thinking they would explode in the heat. :faint:

My Mom wasn't much of a "gun person".

What? The lady said she's heard of loaded guns going off in hot cars and she's being called out on it. Easily triggered, are you?

Oh I see. It's okay for her to report fake news.

No, just picking me up from a friends house where I had been doing some plinking and backyard squirrel hunting.

Excuse me? You and Taco took a report about a hair spray can exploding and going through a windshield and turned it into a poo-flinging, name-calling whine about guns going off in cars based on a 1-second off-hand comment.

    And I'M the triggered one?

    Keep telling yourself that.
