And if you do a search you will see a lot of church shooting.

Rev. Reginald Bachus was getting ready to get up and deliver his sermon when the gunfire started.

He told the Chicago Tribune, "It's just hard for me to believe that something like this could happen on a Sunday morning."

    Seriously? Its Chicago.

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

I carry a primary and a backup whenever I'm at Church. I sing in the choir in front of the congregation, and I'm constantly visually scanning the nave during Sunday liturgy. My primary is now my new G30sf, replacing my G22. My backup is a .38 S&W snubbie.

A fellow parishioner and his wife are skilled gun folks, but surprisingly they don't carry at Church most of the time. I invited them to grab hold of my backup if an active shooter makes an appearance.

Friend Bonnie goes to a church where the preacher is always armed. They have a duty schedule set up so someone will always be armed in the congregation.

I assisted in a CHL/LTC certification class at a local church. The classroom was actually held in the church area and then we caravanned to the designated range. 78 people took the class. A few couldn't attend the range session but most completed the whole course.

News flash - the courts forced IL & CHI to implement concealed carry some time ago.

When I sang in the choir at my first church, I always CCWed my G17. I thank God that I never had to use it.

I suspect Obama got quite a few votes from this church.

I've said this before but I don't "carry a gun in church" so much as I simply carry a gun and church is one of the places I happen to go. It's not too much different than going to Walmart or the Gym

The response of the church was to hold a rally. That should help. (Sarcasm off.)

Church shootings just are not rare, as previous posts have pointed out. I am another who carries every Sunday. I am a pianist, so like the choir member above I usually have a good view of a fair portion of the sanctuary, at least when I am not concentrating on my music. The organist, minister of music, another pianist, and at least three choir members that I know are also regularly armed. It is kind of amusing that this is in a denomination that proclaims its churches to be gun-free zones. Quite a few people, including the pastor, have reason to know or suspect that there are pistols in the congregation, and no one has kicked up any fuss.

LOL. I know you are kidding, but in truth, it is a concert grand Steinway with a purchase price into six figures, so that probably ain't happening! Thanks for the grin, though.

I attended my first church in Newport, NH (home of Sturm Ruger) from 1993-2006, and I CCWed every Sunday.

In reading your posts, I see that you spend and have spent a considerable amount of time in New Hampshire. Why did you decide to live in Vermont?
