Preamble: This is NOT another "why the Glock is the best". Nor, a rambling on about marketing-hyped Glock "perfection". The Glock is NOT perfect, the Glock is NOT the best made gun available and the Glock is NOT a gun for all shooters. I'm simply sharing why the Glock is best for me. Your opinion may differ. The opinions of other Forums may differ. This is my opinion, I offer it for free and you get at the very least what you've paid for in its content. So, it begins...

My "Why I've gone Glock" Top 10, in no particular order:
    > Price - The Glock is comparatively inexpensive
    > Reliability - The Glock works
    > Parts - Glock parts are numerous, everywhere, comparatively inexpensive and interchangable
    > Finish - The Tenifer finish is one of the best
    > Ease of use - My index finger is my safety
    > Simplicity - fewer parts means less to break, less to maintain
    > Ease of Maintenance - Cleaning is a breeze and a punch is all that's really needed to fully disassemble
    > Defensive Accuracy - The Glock is accurate enough at defensive distances
    > Durability - You don't need to baby the Glock for it to run
    > Ubiquity - Glocks are pretty much everywhere in large numbers

Well said, except for the 'finish' part. If the very tough finish does eventually wearoff, the tenifer remains and continues to do it's job of preventing corrosion.

I hated the plastic Glocks when they hit the US market. UNTIL I examined one and fired it. THEN I was hooked forever! I haven't looked back since. I own three in 9mm, .40S&W, and .45 ACP. GLOCKS ROCK THE HOUSE!

You pretty well summed it up Cole.

I look at it this way, if it was needed, a Glock would have it, and it it isn't nessasary, a Glock doesn't have it.
