Why have CZ-52's jumped in price?

Well yeah, but are they THAT in demand? Or is JG hoping people will buy at that price and if not we'll start to see $20 drops every month until people do buy?

    Thanks!

Yeah, they go for about $100 more than they did a year or two ago.

Right. Now I've got mine. It looks brand new and so does the holster, plus I've got 4 mags for it AND the 9mm barrel...but you can't tell me such a package is worth as much as a Glock!!

Maybe not, but I sure as hell don't think a Glock is worth $500.

Quality wise, I'd value them in the $350 range.

Obama. Since he was elected all semi-autos and pistols and even imports for that matter have skyrocketed in every instance I've seen.

Wow. Considering I had one for a couple months, I wouldn't pay $100 for one. Yuck.

As someone who's been shopping for surplus pistols the last couple years, I can tell you none of the usual places had CZ-52s listed. I interpreted that as meaning there weren't any major shipments being imported, so the only ones left were in private hands.

I bought mine on GunBroker, and thought I was overpaying for it ($300ish for a good condition one with holster and two mags). Maybe that wasn't the case.

Bear in mind that unlike the other commie guns, they didn't make this one for decades with multiple countries cloning it. Two years and 200,000 copies--minus whatever got destroyed, locked away, etc, divided by every collector in the world.

Wow, maybe I missed my chance to get one. I won't pay that price for a CZ52.

I'd value them a little higher than $350 but I agree, I wouldn't pay $500 either. I can get LE packaged Glocks for a little over $400.

    I do love Glocks though.

But when looking at a Glock, as mass produced as it is, it's not even in the same league as a CZ-52...so this jack up in price confuses me a bit.

    Thanks!

I dunno about that one. I mean, initially, YES! However, the prices on AR's and AK's have really dropped. For a while AK's were touching $700 and AR's (basic) were around $1000...not really the case today.

Plus these are surplus guns which should be relatively cheap.

Yeah I'm glad I have mine. I LOVE the caliber! It's unfortunate they no longer create guns that can shoot it.

I wasn't planning on getting rid of mine but I never thought they'd fetch over $200 either!

I too, love the caliber. Which is why I got a Tok clone (Norinco).
It's an awesome round and surplus ammo are dirt cheap. And even the non surplus one aren't too bad now (around the same as 38sp out side of wal mart). I wish some gun maker will pick up this caliber.

Oh yeah!! If I could find a modern gun that shot it and held at least 12rds. in the mag, I'd be all over it!!

It's not the best SD caliber for CCW because overpenetration would be a huge issues! However, anytime I find a pistol that can penetrate armor and is reeeallyy cheap to shoot, it interests me.

I want to collect all the platforms that shoot this caliber.

-Tok (Got a China Tok, still need Russian true tok, and Yugo's full size grip tok)
-CZ 52 (though not with the price now)
-PPSH 41 (getting more and more unlikely these days, someone please remake this rifle!)
-Sterling Pistol (ugly than sin, but wth, I'll list it)
-AR Tok (I have hear people mod their AR into 7.62x25mm)

My local gun shop / range has a PPSH--in .22lr! Why in the world someone would bother to rechamber from the 2nd cheapest round to one slightly cheaper, and with no horsepower behind it, is beyond me.

How many rounds of .22 would you have to shoot to justify the conversion cost over 10 cent/round 7.62x25?

I have my C&R and I get catalogs from many of the distributors. CZ52's are right around $200.00 in those catalogs. TT33's aren't much more.

I sold mine about a year ago because I'm getting out of Mil-Surps, but you can see the value in getting your C&R if you're into Mil-Surps.

Well, its all about supply and demand.

The quality of a gun isn't the only factor in price.

Hell, the original D&D Bren Ten had many problems, but look what they sell for today due to sheer rarity.
