A lot of other manufacturers have custom shops. What is wrong with Glock having one?

You want a custom Glock, go for it. It's probably cheaper in the long run outside of malfunctions which you the customer have to figure out not them.

They could accept your gun and install the new competition trigger, would that work? Maybe factory warranty an application of a hot iron and bit of Dremel touch up.

It's a Block that works. Their customer base is not about customs either.

Don't take it the wrong way. I like my Glocks and carry one every day, but customizing one? Nope, but if that's your thing, then go for it!

John_AZ hit the nail on the head. When you have the largest aftermart support of any pistol manufacturer (with the possible exception of the 1911 makers), why spend money to compete with them.

My Glocks have always worked perfectly right out of the box.

Glock's business model is to provide a simple, reliable product for agency use. That product also works well as a canvas for personal/defensive/competition use. Individual users and the aftermarket handle that end of it.

Glock absolutely NEEDS a custom shop to fundamentally fix the chronic “low and left” problem.
