Really. EVERY time I touch a car, door handle, anything for the last, I dunno three weeks, I get a zap. Sometimes It's pretty nasty! A few times I unplug something and get an even worse shock, like my computer charger.

Heck, even today at work on my linoleum floor I stood up and went to push my chair in and my CHAIR shocked me!

What's going on with all this?

problem was solved in "Office Space".

A couple of years ago I reached to pet a cat and a bolt of lightning went from my finger to her nose.

tis the dry air. you need to put static dissipators on you like planes have so the static charge falls off.

You do not have enough alcohol in your system. If you do not have any at home that is no problem.
On the way home pick up a 12 pack of cold adult beverages and
commence to drinkin' when you get to the house.
This will also keep you healthy as everyone knows, alcohol kills germs.
The alcohol should dissipate the electricity that you are generating.
Then again, a humidifier would work also but that will not be as much fun.

Tie a chain to your ankle and let 3 or 4 inches drag on the ground behind you. Works great for school buses.

You're not grounded properly. Call a licensed electrician and have him install a clamp to one of your ankles, to connect to a chain to drag behind you. That should solve the problem.

It's been dry enough this year. I wear static grounding straps at work, yet still have been getting shocked. The straps don't do anything when walking on carpet.

This is weird. The whole time I lived in Florida, which was several years, I don't think I ever got a single static zap - not even once. I had to move to Arizona to be shocked on a daily basis. The air here is almost always bone dry.

Static electricity. Shave your back hair and see if it keeps on happening. Yer building up a charge just normal movements against a chairback.
