And share the brand name if you don't mind
Auctions smell like victory. Except for livestock auctions, they just smell like livestock.
I like that smell sometimes.
the Manheim auto auction in South Dallas smells like weed usually...
You paid the price you picked for an item. Sounds like a win to me.
Weird thing to be upset about. Do your thing, I guess.
I've always has 'satiable curiosity.
True. Except often old garden tools are better then new China made ones. Growing up using hoe my grandparents used. Bought a new one. Two seasons it was junk.
Got to be tactical about it.
Best deal I ever got on a vehicle was at an auction.
6 year old F150 in perfect condition. Local government owned with full maintenance records. 45K miles on it, still had the original tires on it.
Won the bid at $10.5k. This was at an outdoor auction, in Phoenix, in August. I was bidding against two buyers from local dealers, I made it clear to them I was buying that truck (agressive bids, no delays on counter bids). The last one bowed out at $10k and yes, I won that bid.
2 months later that truck would have brought $13, $14k easily.
It is winning as you are competing against someone else. It may not make sense but it goes back to the mindset of 2 year olds or even dogs.
Take two kids each with a toy and the one wants what the other has.
Why do you take a s***?
At 50, I've been going myself now for almost 5 years and never had the urge to take anything
I just looked at a 7 year old F150 with 150,000 on it at a dealer for $24k. You would get way more than $13k
Thanks for the info...and you were not kidding...I looked it up...quite pricey...let us all know if the taste matches the price...
Paying more than the pool of people at an auction doesn't mean you overpaid. You may have, but it's not a given.
Will do. I'm glad you get it. I'd bet to a person that isn't good with winning an auction that the idea of being happy to win the right to by something at retail is unbelievable.
Because it is more efficient than saying "you had the highest bid when time ran out".
Because the other bidders lost. And the seller wants people to see it as a competition.
It sounds better than “I spent too much, and the wife doesn’t know”
