We love it because it's the coolest ever n stuff! Two words, Knob Creek!
you have to ask?
It go BOOM !
How is that stuff legal? I bet it won't be for long. And yes, gotta love it!!!!!
Someone will get hurt doing something stupid and then it will be illegal.
I did not think it could make explosions that big. They put a bunch in a car at the Mustang range and it did not seem to do much more than the regular size jar.
every once in a while someone gets in trouble with the Feds because they lit off 50lbs of it and it gets picked up on seismic sensors.
I would not be surprised if the day comes that it's Federally banned.
But dayum, it is fun!!
It makes me happy.
While I visiting church members I found a bunch of the fellows out by a large work building. They were waiting for me. They suggested i might want to try out a new little .17 Hornady rifle they were firing. So... off behind the building we went. There was a couple of 20 oz. plastic drink bottles out in the field... maybe 150 yds. away. They asked if I wanted to shoot them. Well... give me a rifle and free ammo and I'll shoot anything. So... I took a good prone position and prepared to fire and a little voice in the back of my head told me to think twice. I put in my ear-plugs and then fired. Rewarded by a very nice explosion. Cool. Then I moved to the next bottle which was at a different distance. I failed to allow for the wind and put two rounds right beside the left side of the bottle. The next shot I held over on the right side of the bottle and, voila!!! it also produced a very gratifying fireball and explosion. Very way cool. A few days later they took a bit more of the Tannerite and put it on a float in the pond where they set it off with a rifle round. A deputy sheriff was sent down to the farm to have a chat with them.
I heard through the grapevine that the BATFE is working on it. The question is, will it be legal to possess and detonate new old stock?
while I enjoy the ability to blow stuff up, I don't see how this stuff is legal.
Yes there are many of us responsible enough to use it, but there are so many that watch SOG and will overload a target and hurt something to the point of attracting nation attention.
Just like the idiots that pig hunt their girlfriend and shoot themselves and wife during a safety course.
But maybe I'll get some sooner than later so I can blow stuff up one day.
What's not to like about tannerite?
Who doesn't like a good explosion?
Im gonna catch hell for this, but it wouldnt upset me it if was banned/controlled.
I seriously think we will see this stuff get into the wrong hands at one time or another for terrorist use.
I mean, its much easier to get this stuff than fertilizer.
Sorry guys :embarassed:
I love 20lbs of tannerite at once.
for terroist it is not as easy to set off sense you need a high powered rifle to make it go where with fertilizer it can be set of with a spark which can be done with thousands of things...but i do agree to a point......im going to enjoy it why i can
the big explosion in the video is that one with CNN...he doesnt live that far from me....to make it worse that just seismic senors but he did it less than 1 mile from a Nuclear Power Plant and they have a auto shut down in case of earthquakes.....he got in HUGE doodoo
I love me some tannerite! I got one of my best friends addicted to it when I sent her half a case for her birthday. That was great, now she and all her AF buddies are addicted too.
There was an incident where a tannerite target was too close to the shooters and some shrapnel tore up the liftgate and wiring in the back of one guy's SUV. This was the end of organized shoots on one local message board here....
I would love Tannerite if it made a bigger boom. It's really pretty meh. You can easily find more boom for your buck at your local hardware store.
