Why didn't the Bible end with the ascension of Jesus into Heaven?
    There is an answer.

"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." - Acts 1:9

Because the members of the early church wrote a variety of letters and interpretations about their experiences telling the Gospel to the Jews and Gentiles of the middle east. Around 350 years or so (i'm guessing here) later the bishops decided which letters were good for instruction to their flocks and a we had the beginnings of a Bible. Notice they included the Torah and the truckload of Jewish Old Testament prophets as part of the vital teaching tools for Christians. Christianity is a child of Judaism even though in the past 2000 years there is now a palpable difference

    Matthew 24:14 KJV
[14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The war is won but all of the prisoners are not yet free. Evil and good are allowed to play out. There will be no question in the kingdom about what the result of sin is.

Many people as children are indeed forced to read biblical stories.

    I'm not Jewish. I'm Messianic.
    We know what happened.

Zec 3:1 And he showed me Yehoshua the high priest standing before the messenger of יהוה, and Satan standing at his right hand to be an adversary to him.
Zec 3:2 And יהוה said to Satan, “יהוה rebuke you, Satan! יהוה who has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Zec 3:3 And Yehoshua was dressed in filthy garments, and was standing before the messenger.
Zec 3:4 And He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your guilt from you, and shall put costly robes on you.”
Zec 3:5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” Then they put a clean turban on his head, and they put garments on him. And the messenger of יהוה stood by.
Zec 3:6 And the messenger of יהוה witnessed to Yehoshua, saying,
Zec 3:7 “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘If you walk in My ways, and if you guard My duty, then you shall also rule My house, and also guard My courts.

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

I just started this thread to see what answers I'd get.
    Now I know.

There appears to be no Bible believing Christians posting in this forum?

I posted. Do you think that you are the only believer and that if anyone disagrees with you they can't be a Bible believer?

Do you really need to ask that? I mean it's fairly obvious that that's precisely what he believes.

I think you and I are the only two here.

I've started a few threads lately just to judge how many other Christians post in this forum.
Sadly about 80% of posts are atheists with nothing but negative insults.

Funny how the moderators don't see that?

Perhaps because you are alone in your interpretation of posts which you define as "negative insults".

Probably the only thing that Christians and Atheists agree about on GTRI is that you're so far out in left field, you're not even in the stadium. Maybe not even in the same city.

When that happens, 0.000000001% of the time, that lone voice sees something others can't. 99.999999999% of the time, like you, they're just lost and confused.

The Bible ended where the Lord intended it to end.

    You are correct.

If the Bible would have ended at Acts 1:9, then salvation would have never been offered to the Gentiles through the Apostle Paul.

Jesus still had some work to do after his crucifixion.

The Lord's work is never done. Each day we should strive to sow a seed. No one is without sin.
