    Hello,

I am in struggle to understand why Michelle Obama won an award at the oscars award. Can you school on me why she won an award?

Is it a politicial thing from the Hollywood's part?

Did she win one or did she just announce the winner of one?

According to the Drudge Report, she presented an award. She did not receive an award.

Because she's the president's wife and people seem to like her for some dumb reason?

So Michelle Obama gave an award to someone at Oscars, right?

Why she had to do that? I don't understand why she had to award the oscar award to someone?

No, she announced the winner of an oscar. It was presented in LA.

For publicity purposes and possibly to show how in tune with popular culture the White House is, she was asked to announce the oscar and accepted that duty.

When you run the oscars, you can invite whomever you care to present them.

I get it. Sorry I was trying to say "presented" but I typed "awarded" because in the American Signing Language both words has a same signing for it. ANYWAY.

LOL it seems I got the world's attention based on this question at OP.

    No, you're still wrong.

"Awarded" *does* mean the same as presented.... "to give"

In your OP, you said, "WON an award". That's very different, that's receiving honor for something you did.

"Awarded" and "won an award" are polar (180*) opposites.

At the Oscars, they have someone different present most of the awards, not just one person. It just gives face time to famous people.

I'm suprised she didn't pass out awards to all those who didn't win.

Cut him some slack - there are people who were born here, lived their whole lives here, gradjimicated the public education system, and still can't speak/write the english language.
