Just got a laptop, and I'm trying to access the c drive on my desktop. This is the error that I get.

Mshome is not accesible. You might not have permision to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permisions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not available.

What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

OK, if I do a search, using the search menu, I can find the computer and access it fine.

I mapped a network drive from there, so I can now access it from my computer or windows explorer.

But still nothing shows up in my network places.

You have to share the C drive.

Right click on the C drive on your home machine select the sharing tab.

usually you may have to use your username and password to get to the share

    administrator
and no password or if you set a password then use that.

    Try that.

of course I've done that. Like I said, I can do a search for the computer, and find it, and get the drive I want as a mapped drive, but in my network places, nothing shows up.
