My two favorites are
Frank Zane and Bob Parris
I think they captured what bodybuilding should be, aesthetic's and balance.
Too much emphasis on bulk these days.

Probably Franco Columbu. He was very strong, and I'm old. LOL

Yeah, I can remember seeing him blow up hot water bottles like balloons until they popped. He was cool, but I was a fan of Lou Ferigno. Arnold always came across as a jerk.

Christine Pomponio. Google her and then tell me that any other looks better.

She's a figure model, not a bodybuilder.

She might disagree with you. Easy on the eyes!
Her own website refers to her as a "Figure Model and Actress", so I doubt she would disagree.

Female bodybuilders look like this:

Not this:

Also, from the neck up she ain't much to look at, IMO.

Also, I'm pretty out of touch with current bodybuilders, but I would agree with this. Ronnie Coleman looks like a cartoon.

Sorry, but she is still the correct answer. I wish you hadn't posted the photo of that other woman though. Now I need to look at more pix of Christine to get that other woman's image out of my mind.

Male bodybuilders are disgusting and difficult to look at as well.

I'm really not into the new scene. It really has gone overboard IMHO.
Guys like Franco, Zane, Arnold, you'd look at them and say yeah I'd like to be built like that. The new generation, not so much.

Yep. Take a gander here:

The thing that immediately jumped out at me was their competition weights vs. height.

I too am not a fan of the freaks like Dorian Yates, et al. I also agree with the choice of Frank Zane. Sergio Oliva is probably still my favorite. Arnold killer, called "The Myth" for a reason and a Chicago cop to boot.

Yeah, what a beast. "Looks like a cartoon" is about right. There's a youtube video of him working as a police officer. He looks really crazy beside regular people. Like another species.

I grew up with the bodybuilders of yesteryear like Arnold, Frank, Franco, Sergio etc. The body builders of today, well I don't want to sound unkind, but their freaks that have simply taken too many pharmaceuticals. Some of them look like they had an air hose shoved up their hind end and they were over inflated. And it's a shame the sport has been reduced to that type of physique.

I prefer what is achievable naturally with good ole fashion hard work, clean diet and plenty of rest. Here are a couple of the body builders that are featured in the training section of martialwarrior.us

Jeff Cavaliere of Athlene X (I don't know if he competes but I qualify him as a body builder. He trains athletes and celebrities and is a physical therapist).

Michael Ferencsik (who does compete and has won various natural competitions)

Their video offerings are being compiled here: http://martialwarrior.us/forumdisplay.php?fid=26

I've talked with Michael a couple of times on the phone and he's been very helpful. A couple of years older than me, he's inspired me to train for a natural BB competition. I would be in the Master's bracket.

No, they're not the biggest but they have the physique that inspires me. Btw, Jeff's Athlene X workouts are the best I've ever experienced hands down.

Syleena Adams. She has great muscle tone and still manages to look feminine.
