Wow, do you recall where you heard that? Some trial on what it takes to refurb them, get ready for sale? The mind is racing a bit.

It was a claimed on the CMP forum a couple months ago.
Wishful thinking?
Inside knowledge?

That I just don't know.

It was in this thread I saw it mentioned.

http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=165318&highlight=1911

When I first read it, it only had 8 pages. I skimmed the pages tonight and couldn't find the mention of them being in a locked shipping container at Anniston.

I'd say someone either edited or deleted the post on it.

Just got back from CMP week at Camp Perry... was anyone here chasing EIC points?

  • We had a soggy, soggy day in the Hearst Doubles. Drizzled and poured off & on all morning.
  • Shot well in the NTI match (79th overall), but I wasn't chasing points. Had a great day at the 600 line.
  • Coached one of the M1 for Vets teams in the NTT match. Got my $^#& kicked by the switching winds at the 600 yard line that day, but the team had a good time.
  • Shot NTIT (rattle battle) with 3 teams from M1 for Vets as well. That was the first time I've ever shot the match and had a great time.
  • Sadly, I missed the cut for the P100 again this year  .

Sounds wet, but you must have had a great time.

Luckily, only the first day was wet. The weather for the rest of the week shaped up pretty well and was in the high 70's - mid 80's all week. A couple of cloudy and windy days, but that's the norm up there. The previous CMP Pistol week was a wash-out though.

Perry is always a good time. We took up 17 combat wounded vets again this year with the M1 for Vets program and all of them had a good time. Great guys, camaraderie and shooting.

Thanks very much for doing that for our Vets. Have seen many there myself.
