    "UP yours"!!! ;f

On a side note, Max, the boy you see on the right in my avatar is a HUGE talker and has lots to say, he's a typical siamese....but his meow is high pitched and he is not "yowley" like most siamese.......it's not annoying at all, and we talk back and forth all the time.......

Excellent pic Denfoote! My cats communicate all the time too.

    Meow! = pet me
    Meooooooooow! = feed me
(Paw to the hand) = enough petting
(Paw to the face) = stop staring

Many years ago, when I was first married, we had a striped tabby named Pawlette. She used to gently wake my wife from a nap when it was time for her to be fed.

My wife told me about this, but it took some time before I could actually witness it.

One afternoon, following a pre-arranged signal, I crept to the bedroom door and peeked in. My wife was lying on her back, pretending to be asleep, and Pawlette was staring up at her from the floor next to the bed.

After a short time, Pawlette jumped on the bed, carefully walked up to my wife's shoulder, and sat there, staring at her for awhile. Sure that she was asleep, Pawlette raised the bottom of her left paw to her own face, squinted at it and carefully extended her claws just a tiny, tiny bit. She then used that paw to gently tap-tap-tap at my wife's cheek until she opened her eyes.

Seeing that my wife was awake, Pawlette meowed once, jumped down and walked to her food dish.

    Yes, cats can indeed communicate!
