I just bought three .45 ACP value packs from Wal-Mart. The 250 round packs were $86.97 each which works out to less than 35 cents a round.

    I'm happy.

My local Wal_mart has 2 cases of 9mm 100paks @ $21/box. Didn't buy any because that is still to high for me. They were alsso stocking a case of Remington green and yellow box of FMJ so I had him check the price on it. $29.97 for a box of 50 FMJ. Told them I would pass on that also.

Sounds like you did ok, but I still can't bring myself to pay $360 a case for .45.

And that is good? God I'm glad I learned how to reload back in college.
Inflation is not so bad IF folks' pay grade/salary goes up, which it hasn't for most of us. So....yeah....that sounds bad to me. Especially since I can make 250 rnds of 45 ACP for about $10-15.00 bucks.

Get it back to 15c a round and I'd be happy.

If you don't think that $348 / 1000 is a good price for factory .45 ball, you need to go back to sleep Rip.

With today's cost in components you're reloading for that cheap? I buy in serious bulk and I'm not coming close to that. primers are $30.00 per 1k, cast are running me about 14 per 100 from mag, and bullseye is running 17 per pound and figuring brass is free I'm still paying .18 a round and that comes to about $45 per 250 using cast. Where are you buying your components?

Well, I'm still usuing bulk components bought from a few years ago before prices got crazy and I cast my own boolits from free lead sources I've scrounged around from. Yep, like anything else, it'll run out. But bein' a patient and frugal CRB always pays off. What one knows it good, and will save one some cabbage. But WHO one knows also helps. Just takes some time that's all.
People talk about the "time costs" in casting and scrounging, but I enjoy the hell out of it. I ain't wasting time if I enjoy it. Time and money are for when I'm at work, not at home.
