Because I really want one! Add a drum to that thing and do some serious damage to those trash cans at the range.

Who owns one? Pics would be nice so I can get some ideas on how to clean it up. I'm thinking about going the krink brake or perhaps the romanian extended birdcage, definitely swapping out that cheap black plastic grip for a brown one, commie green sling, and a 75rd drum will totally set it off!

I went through the same thing a few months ago.

First off, putting a 75rd (5lb. +/-) drum on a pistol seems to defeat the purpose. But I initially thought it was a cool ability as well.

I've been told that they have accuracy issues and since you can't shoulder them, that does make sense. Since the barrel is so short it does cut some of the nuts off of the round.

Originially, I wanted one for my GHB (get home bag) to get around the state's law prohibiting long guns carried in vehicles. Now, I'd definitely go with a 10.5" AR pistol. I still might do that. But if you just want a small AK with decent accuracy...get a Yugo. M2 Carbine posted pics of his with an AK pistol and, honestly, it was only a few inches different.

If you just want something to plink around with at the range, by all means get the Draco and have a good time. But if you want something a little more serious/useful I'd look for something in the AR platform.

    Just my .02. :)

EDIT: You can search my name and Draco and you'll see my thread. ;)

    I got one.
Because, it is the closest thing to an AK SBR you can legally own/possess while in CA.
I use it as a car gun while driving between CA and NV.

I don't see the utility. My amd65 is only a couple inches longer, yet has a super compact folding stock. It also has the verticle fore-grip the Draco can't have without Federal AOW registration. But, whatever floats your boat...

I already have a norinco ak and a romanian psl. I thought this draco pistol would be a cool/fun gun to shoot sometimes.

I'd say go for it then!

The Draco is definitely a fun looking range toy and the price is right. www.classicarms.us has them for $350 and www.centerfiresystems.com has them for $330 but it's not clear whether they'll be in stock again or not.

    Good luck!:)

I don't have a Draco, but do have a M92 that I built as a pistol. It is fairly accurate without a stock when using a red dot, but I had problems aiming with the iron sights. I have a Burris FastFire on it now until I can afford to put a Aimpoint T1 on it.

I'm sure the range would appreciate it if you didn't shoot their trash cans though.
