It looks like the Friday precipitation chances are dropping. If it is an option for you, Sunday's are typically a good day to shoot with lesser crowds, and the current forecast looks good as well.

Thanks. Yeah I know there will definitely be mud, just trying to gauge how bad it gets there. I know RBGC can get slickkkkk in some of the bays when its raining/rained a lot. I'll wear my offroad shoes to be safe lol.

How about parking? Do we get to park closer to the bays or at the big clubhouse and walk? Google doesn't have a satellite view but judging by the roads that do show up its 1/4-1/2 mile to the action bay area right?

Upon arrival, park at the Clubhouse. Watch the safety video and get your wrist band. Sign the liability form and register or pick up your stickers. You can then get in your car and drive down closer to the bays, there is a gravel lot for parking. Not too far of a walk from there. Weather is looking better for Friday so hopefully it'll be a good day for shooting.

Shoot slow enough to be accurate within 8". Don't get sucked in at the plates and try to go fast. Each plate left standing is a 10 second penalty and you can't shoot fast enough to make that up. Don't shoot it like a target match but not like a speed match either. Develop a smooth rythm.
Watch the shooters before you at each stage and learn from their mistakes. If you help paste the paper stages, you can see how the penalties mount up.
My first match I finished 153 out of 264 in the civilian division. Now, after 7 years and $10,000 worth of practice, I can sometimes break the top 10 in some divisions I shoot.
    Have fun and enjoy.

I shot Friday. Didn’t set the world on fire but didn’t embarrass myself either. Going back to watch Gunny Challenge this afternoon then it’s a 12 hr drive home but totally worth it!

I shot Friday and was finished by 11:30. Stayed over to watch the Gunny. It didn't appear to be as busy this morning as it was yesterday. I think the lack of ammo is going to hurt attendance the rest of the year.

I saw a video that appeared to be from a first qualifying portion. Appeared to be a G44 putting 5 rounds each on two targets, then swapped to the G45MOS to run a plate rack. Was that an Aimpoint ACRO on the G45?

I’m pretty sure it was the aim point acro. There were no G44 used in the Gunny match. For qualifying for the Gunny we shot the G45mos at the same course for time. The top 16 fastest time made it to the Shoot off.

Here’s a pic of Andrea Boone 3rd place and Danny Clifton 2nd place. Both are Team Carver and it was Danny’s first Gunny match. Congrats to both of them.

Congrats to the winners in the Gunny Challenge. I received my first invite this year with about three weeks notice and regretfully declined. I've flown with guns before but not large quantities of ammo and I ran out of match bullets to load so had no match ammo until this past week.

I think I just read on this subject that Glock provides the guns and ammo, is that correct? If so I really blew it by not attending, looks like big fun.

Glock does provide the guns and all ammo for the Gunny Challenge. You are not required to shoot the match, which some participants chose not to do.

Holy moly, why would you pass this up? I would probably get smoked in the qualifier but it would still be fun to try.
