Just passed 1,100 in my Shield 9mm. Week ago on Wednesday, practicing trigger control, had two FTF's - FIRST EVER! Did not check to be sure if it was slide or trigger reset that failed. Ammo was 124 gr Blazer fmj.

Saturday, 50 rounds with no failures. Same ammo, only diff was magazine.

Monday morn, using American Eagle 124 FMJ and the mag from previous FTF's, the slide HESITATED, perhaps a half-second, three times to fully chamber first round, but did go into armory. I am thinking, because my focus was changing trigger control, today's failures were soft rack release and previous failures were limp wrist.

All extra mags are factory 8's. Have neither numbered my mags nor counted rounds by mag, but this mag probably 300+ rounds thru it and spring still feel stout.

What do you think? Mag failure, gun failure, or operator failure?
Who is at fault? Me or my Shield? I vote me.

Have you cleaned your chamber recently?

EDIT: Just realized this is a three year old thread, lol.
