Well, the little black rifle has gone Flat Dark Earth, Green, and Coyote in the last few years. But, has anyone started making furniture, accessories, attachments, slings, add-ons, et cetera in WHITE yet? The recent unusual amounts of snowfall have me thinking some people might want to set up an "Artic Warfare" AR-15.....

I imagine at least some things could be Dura-Coated in White.....

But, things like slings and such, not so much.....

Saw on at the gun show in Albuquerque where the whole thing, except the sights, was white. I looked like Durocoat or paint. It also looked like ***.

The closest thing I've seen is the urban camo paint scheme.

There is a picture floating around of a white AR - I forget the manufacturer, but they made two IIRC, and raffled one off. They gave one to Sarah Palin...or maybe they jus had her sign the one they gave away (raffled?). It looked like something a stormtrooper would carry if they were 'real and here on earth.'

Stormtroopers carried black weapons though...

Cling wrap, or something wrapped around the gun would be much better than painting the whole gun white.

If you look, there's still alot of dark out there, even when the snow is covering just about everything.

During an exercise in the mid-nineties we used white medical tape to snow camo our M16A2s. Seemed to work rather well.

Self clinging tape would be great... Saw a roll of ACU tape for cheap.

Good point. I have a few rolls of self-clinging white tape. It's kinda like
a light adhesive backed ACE bandage.

I'm going to ACU tape my AR and throw it into some bushes in the backyard and hope that the jackboots won't see it when they come to seize my weapons.

Yeah, stormtroopers carried black weapons, but that white one screams 'stormtrooper model'. Imagine one of the Imperial guards (the red-suited stormtroopers that were stationed by the Emporer) weilding a white gun - they'd look like part of the stage show from a White Stripes concert.

Even the snowtroopers carried black laser rifles, yeah?

The red robes are the elite Emperor's guards. They carry electron disruption staffs. I should know, I still have one in my collection.

The snow troopers carried full length rifles to get more distance on their shots just like the desert troopers on Tatooine.

The short blaster pistols are used in cqb and for raiding parties.

I thought I saw a few ARs on AR15.com with white hand guards and butt stocks and grips.

I think that the white furniture would look good...

It kinda scares me that so many people here can recite so many "facts" about Star Wars, and the weapons carried by the empire's soldiers.

Odd comment from a guy with a picture of a KKK member holding a detonating thermal detonator.

    (HA!)

And to the previous poster...you have an electron disruption staff? What is that, like a movie prop, or did someone manufacture those for collectors?

DOES "PIX" GO WITH "PLEASE"!?!? If I had an elite Emporer's Guard uniform and an electron disruption staff, I would be...well, likely in jail or the booby hatch.

Sorry for the thread disruption. I have not found more sources for white AR parts...but I like where this thread is going.

Myself, I use cloth drapes and tapes to get white/light colors on my ARs when winter varmint/fur hunting. A piece of one of the old off-white-with-piney-bursts German winter camo "ponchos" with a couple of holes cut for muzzle and sight(s) works pretty well. Don't grab the rifle THROUGH the cover, grab the rifle UNDER the cover and carry it with your arms under the cover as well. Tape the exposed portion of the barrel, same for the mag that will be in the weapon, and maybe the stock.

Any reason or just to prevent your hand from slipping off with the cover and drop the rifle?

Here ya go... pretty rifle for sure but I still prefer the snow camo scheme on the Socom II.
