Which would benefit more from a 1/2" barrel increase, 9x19 or .357 SIG?

The 357 Sig "likes" longer barrels I think you know that already. A half inch barrel length increase will on average give it an additional 40 to 60 more fps, especially with higher velocity brands of ammo.

Adding an additional 25 fps adds more velocity percentage-wise to 9mm than .357sig.

I was just loading some top loads for my 17l 9mm and g24 357 sig over the weekend so I can give you some 6" numbers. Both are kkm barrels.

    17l 9mm:
    90xtp @1700fps
    125xtp @1500fps
    158xtp @1300fps
    180wfn @1150fps

    g24 357sig:
    90xtp @2050fps
    125xtp @1750fps
    158xtp @1525fps
    180wfn @1350fps

Simple calculation. Divide 25 by 1180 (being generous to 9mm) then divide 25 by 1350, the standard velocity for factory .357sig. The percentage gain clearly goes to 9mm.

It will add some, heck factory porting takes some away.

Every one of you should invest in a chrono & stop guessing what your ammmo is doing or stop carring because factory quotes & one test platform means little in your pistol.

It does. Which answers the OP's question. The 9mm will never catch up though when comparing the same barrel lengths.
