I want to buy one to use for CQB home defense. Figure I can throw a mag or two for my rifle on it and throw it on. More and more armed home invasions in my area. Three guys broke in and shot a guy to death last week. Wouldnt hurt to have one for civil unrest. Whats the difference between systems? Did USGI ever have a IIIA? Which set up is the quickest to put on? Im sure I will have a much better survivability rate with one of these...

When I was in the Marines we wrapped ourselves in aluminum foil. That was lighter and better protection that the Interceptor and the old flak.

If a smash and grab, armed home invasion were to occur in your home, perhaps you would be best off focusing on bring your weapon to bear quickly. Unless you plan on going about your day-to-day home-life wearing body armor, it's probably not going to be quick enough to get into.

you wake up in the middle of the night...do you instantly throw on body armor over your PJ,s before setting out to see if it was just the cat.

or you are watching TV and someone kicks in your door in a hail of gunfire and theme music. do you throw your armor on then grab your gun

spend the money on ammo and training.

armor has its uses but not for the every day home defender.

if you really want some...go with a named brand level IV if that is too exspensive go to a IIIa...so on and so forth....

In the long run unless you want some for ubber SHTF.... you will not use it.

but if money is no object ....get anyone of the listed above and get used to wearing it by wearing it daily.

women will find you a lot less atractive if you do this though (just saying)

Chances are....in the even of a home intrusion, I'll be wearing an AR and pee soaked boxers.

If you really want something buy a plate carrier from blackhawk. You can get the ceramic sapi plates off ebay. You probably won't beable to find esapi's. Done.

Get MOPP gear too. They could come in with an NBC threat

I got an IBA made in '04 (I think) for a song, plates and all. That said, I wouldn't be shopping for one at the going rates.

Your money would be better spent on an alarm system.
