I have been doing lots of research on IWB holsters trying to find one that would suit me best. I like the crossbreed style of holster but not the Price of and actual crossbreed holster and their wait period. I have come down to two options that stand out to me from the research I have done. These two are:
1. Tommy Theis Holster
2. Max Tuck from Whitehat Holsters.

I have seen A lot of positive reviews and customer satisfaction with regards to Tommy Theis holsters. The price of these holsters are very competitive and from what reviews I have seen, his customer service is excellent.

I have not been able to find as much customer reviews on the Max tuck holster as I have with the Theis holster, but from what I have seen alot of the little details in their design make sense.

I was hoping to get some Feed back from GT members that have experience with these holsters to help me decide which would be the best buy of my two options.

You get what you pay for.

Just doing a quick google search, the Max Tuck and the Tommy Theis seem to be about the same price as the Crossbreed. I can't speak to these holsters, but I paid $75 including shipping for my Super Tuck and I received it in 9 days from purchase. My opinion is it is one of the finest hybrid holsters out there.

They are not the same price. The crossbreed starts at $69.75. +$15 for Horsehide. Plus $7.50 for combat cut. Then add shipping to that.

For the same options with the two holsters that I'm interested in. The Tommy theis would be btw $70 - 75 including shipping.
The Max tuck would be $80 including shipping.

I use the galco kingtuk it's like the cross breed one but $60 and readily available. I didn't want to wait 3 weeks and pay 25 more dollars.
It seem to be holding up well but I guess check back in a year. )

I have a Theis. Excellent product and support. I had a question about mine, sent a email to Tommy and he called me 5 minutes later!

Horsehide, combat cut, delivery in 10 days from order for I think $65 plus shipping, hard to beat.

Try calling somebody from Galco!

I have a Theis IWB in horsehide. Other than that, I don't have any experience with the holsters of this type (CBST, KingTuk, MaxTuck, etc.). IOW, I've got nothing bad to say about them. With that said, my Theis arrived in about 4 days (with a federal holiday in between, IIRC), and I love it. Also, Tommy is a helluva nice guy to deal with.

G22 in a horsehide Tommy THEIS. Excellent comfort after it adapted to my body shape. My only issue is the squeaky noise between the metal clips and leather. I sweat and have to use lots of baby powder to keep it quiet. My name is Mike and I approve of the THEIS holster.

I always hear so much good things about Theis holsters and his customer service. I checked out his facebook page and everyone seems to be happy with their holsters from him. He seems to have excellent quality aswell as the best price. The more I can save on getting a good holsters leaves me more money that I can put into Ammo :)

While I don't have the Theis I do have the Comptac MTAC and the Tactipac Fusionpac. The MTAC being very comparible to what you're looking at, though I greatly prefer the Fusionpac and the MTAC has been retired to the shelf to collect dust.

Sorry for my derailment. A very close friend of mine has both the MTAC and a Theis. His MTAC has been retired as well and has NOTHING but GOOD THINGS to say about Theis. He is very pleased with the craftsmanship, delivery times and customer service.

Still sounds like they're about the same price to me...

Anyways, may I also suggest checking out http://www.kholster.com. They go for $50 and any modifications you do to them won't void the warranty.

Really?
Crossbreed holster:
$69.75 + $15.00 +$7.50= $92.25 then add $7-$10 shipping. Lets say $100.00 with shipping included.
Theis holster : $75.00 with shipping included.
Max tuck holster : $80.00 with shipping included.
$20-$25 difference.

I did check out kholster as well but they didn't stand out to me.

If you are not absolutely set on getting the Tommy Theis or the Max Tuck, you may want to look at Shielded Holsters. Do a search for Shielded Holsters and there is a very long thread with many pics and customer opinions (mostly very good). The guy who makes them is a forum member and I believe his username is Kwart. His name is Kurtis and he can be reached at [email protected]. His website is shieldedholsters.com . The holsters are the hybrid type and, if I remember correctly, they are $50 with or without the combat cut. I think he may charge $5 for shipping (it's been a while since I purchased two from him). I've never owned any of the previously mentioned hybrids holsters, but people who have seem to agree that they are as comfortable as a CBST or any other hybrid. I received my holsters in about 4 days, but as I said before, this was a while ago. If you decide to go this route, definitely send him an email and he will let you know for sure. Great customer service.

+1 on the Shielded Holsters. I've purchased 3 of them from Kurtis. They're fantastic. That said, I just got an MTAC for my new G19 Gen4. I have an old CTAC and have always wanted an MTAC for some reason, so I kinda impulse-bought it. :) Get a Shielded Holster, you'll love it. If not, you can just send it back!

There's only one holster good enough for me, Raven Concealment Systems Phantom holster or RCS. I can buy one holster and add the IWB/OWB option to it and I am covered for everything. All of my Semi Auto's with rails are equipped with weapon lights, so I order the RCS Phantom light carrier holster. They are not cheap, but why would you skimp on a tool like a firearm? Also they are popular and do have lead times that make some people unhappy, I never minded waiting for great gear.

Steyr S9-A1/Remora holster Price range: $25 - $35 depending on options

I'll also add a +1 for Remora holsters. I own two of those as well for the same two guns that I have Shielded Holsters for. They are very comfortable, convenient (quick on and off), and work very well despite not having any belt clips. If you're not committed to getting a hybrid, it might be worth it to try one out. At that price, it's a pretty low-risk purchase.

Or you could spend $60 (shipped) for the Shielded Holsters Adarga and get it in just a few short days. Hell, it even includes IWB and OWB hardware.
