Ok everybody first let me say great site, Ok now to the meat of it, I am trying to decide on which Glock to by FIRST for my CCW. I have pretty much narrowed it down to either 26,30,36 I think. I am usually a 45 guy but like the 9mm also. I guess what I am asking is what do you guys that have some experience with these guns would reccomend and why. Stuff like height, width, weight, shootability I will be carrying IWB. I was leaning more toward the 30 but have been looking at 26 for small size but is it too small? Damn I am just flat confused. Thanks to all in advance.

I have a Glock 22 full size, but bought the Glock 27 Sub Compact of the same caliber for summer carry. I typically wear dress slacks and button up dress shirt or company polo shirts. I could probably get by with the 22, but the 27 is easier to keep from printing in the summer.

I believe in carrying the largest gun that you are comfortable carrying all the time.
I carry a 21SF most of the time and a 36 when circumstances dictate a smaller gun.

    I started with a 23 and a mtac but
    I have a 26 because it's easier to
    conceal

G26 is very easy to conceal - I wear one every day. Too small? Not sure what you mean. If you mean too small to shoot accurately, the answer is no. Put the most pressure on your middle finger, less on the ring finger, and curl the pinkie underneath. I actually shoot my G26 more accurately that way than with extended magazines. That's not true of everyone, but I have heard others say it, too, so I'm not paddling this boat completely by myself.

Thanks everybody, keep em coming. I probably should have made that more clear about small, I have large hands and it just felt small, but that is also a plus I guess. I have just heard some say you might as well go with 19 but if I did that I would get the 30. Thanks again everybody I really appreciate it and like I said keep em coming and pics too if you got em.

Outta the three, go with the G30, and carry a spare mag.

My main CCW is the G36. Reliable, thinnest Glock made...and 45 ACP. Yea, I know ONLY 6 rounds. But before I obtained my CC permit, I was carrying ZERO rounds. Frankly, if you are travelling in areas where you need more than six rounds - you ought to be toting an SMG. Good Luck in your choice.

I chose a 26 as my first ccw. Stock magazine makes very easy to carry, even pocket carry with right clothes. I have +2 mags and am using smartcarry type of holster till I find right IWB. Will definitely own a 19 as soon as funds are available. Have not tried .45 platform yet, but am sure I'll get there eventually.

I'd say either G26 or the G30. The G30 is just .09" wider than the G36! :wow:
I do not care for the G36's grip. I prefer the G30 over the G30sf.
I carried my G30 with a 9 round flush mag installed and a 10 round spare.
Then there's the G26,.....it's great as well.

I agree tuica, but there is just something about 10 rounds of 230 grain haha. How does the 30 carry faawrenchbndr, thickness wise that was my only concern with it?

It carries good, much better OWB, I use to have a G30 as well and it carried great in a Kramer OWB belt scabbard holster with nothing but a polo or button down shirt over it down here in the hot South, FL summers.

You cant go wrong with a G30. I love mine and it is my main carry gun. I also got a G27 for summer carry and feel that the two offer a great combo for any carry options.

Carried great in a Comp-Tac MTAC!
It's ONLY .09" thicker than a G19 and a hair smaller overall dimensions if you use a 9 round mag.

Let's get the facts straight my friend.
    G30 width:1.27"
    G36 width:1.13"
Difference: .14 inches, which is close to 3/16" and a noticeabledifference in grip and ease of concealability.
