I am in the market for a 2nd Colt AR. I have a 6920 and a Bushmaster M4 A2. I have seen on Gunbroker that Colt has quit making the LEO only rifles. In their place is a SP6920 (without the LEO only) and a SP6920MP with magpul components.

They seem to be about the same price. Should I go for an LEO gun or the mag pul or ???

Maybe even a 6450 9mm withthe same LEO questions?

    Any thoughts??

Do you like the looks of the OEM Colt? Or, do you like the looks of the Magpul stuff better? A 6920 is a 6920 is a 6920. The choice is purely looks as the function is identical. Just pick the one that "looks better" to you.

My personal choice is the 6520. The lightweight barrel handles excellently.

    Good luck.

How about a Colt 6720? Lightweight, pencil barrel, a little different than your 6920.

For the record, I am ordering a SP6920MP tomorrow :D

Not a fan of the 6520 as the carry handle is fixed, but to each his own.

    I agree. I guess I'm a little "dated" with my 6520.

I would get the Magpul 6920 because I like the rollmark.

You can sell the Magpul stuff that comes on it and get the furniture/rail you like

Does the 6920MP have a custom rollmark?

The Mosin Nagant is awesome too, but it's also pretty dated.

I agree; love my 6520; it's light and handy and really simple. Because many folks prefer the ability to fit optics, there are some bargains out there. You should be able to score a new one for less than $1K.
