I want to buy an aftermarket barrel so I can shoot some nuclear loads out of my G20SF. I am trying to decide between the KKM, Lone Wolf and the Bar-sto. I am looking for suggestions from you guys. Price really is not a matter of concern.

KKM is my choice. Having used both KKM & LWD, KKM us higher quality and fit and finish is better. KKM is manufactured by the owners they have control of quality, LWD is outsourced and I am a made in America kind of person. Dont like Cartoon characters on my barrel hood nor having to pay not to have it.
LWD is a decent product for the money. Have had good and not so good experience with LWD. KKM on the otherhand KKM has been perfect 6 times over.

All 3 barrels will shoot fine.
I personally own 2 KKM barrels for my 29. one in 10mm and 1 in 10-40 conversion. Both orders I received at my door in less than a week from the day I ordered them and they were cut to what length I wanted. The quality of the KKM is excellent.

I'm with Texas48 and g29guy. Ima big fan of KKM. The machining is simply superb and the overall fit and finish SPANK the Lone Wolf's heinie. I won't buy LWD because of the cartoon dog picture and the paying to have it left off. I'll go with KKM every day. Fast service, perfect product.

No experience with Bar-Sto barrels but I've HEARD they are not always drop-in. I'll be damned if I order a part and then have to take it to a smith to have it fit to the gun. Did I mention KKM makes a great drop-in barrel.

^^^ This!

I own four KKM barrels: G20 10mm, G20 .40 S&W, G20 .357 Sig and a G29 10mm. All four are standard length (for their respective gun). I also own 1 LWD barrel. It is a 6" G20 9x25 Dillon.

I can attest to the quality of the KKM. They are works of art. The LWD, not so much. And that hideous dog (wolf)! Arghhh! However, the LWD did fit like a glove so it probably perfoms just as good.

My only REAL hangup with LWD is when I bought one for my G29. I have read that LWD provides better chamber support than KKM so I decided to give LWD a try... even though I already had three KKM barrels for my G20. Well, when I got it I was dissappointed. The chamber suport was the exact same as my stock barrel. (I still don't know if it was a screwed-up barrel or not -- I can only assume it was.) I sent it back and got a KKM instead. The KKM was supported as expected: much better than stock and up to par with my other KKM barrels.

I will add that my LWD 9x25 Dillon barrel for my G20 has WAY more support than my other KKM barrels (almost 100%), but I think that is due to the 9x25 design rather than it being LWD vs KKM.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not change a think. I would go with KKM. The extra $50 per barrel does add up though...

I thought about buying a Storm Lake 5.3" directly from them but if they don't have one in stock it can take up to 45 days to get it.
you can get a 5.3 inch barrel from kkm in about a week. In fact you can get kkm to cut a G 20 barrel to most any legnth you want from 4.6 to 6.0 at no additional cost. Call them or order on line and ask for the legnth you want in the comments area of the online order form. 165.00 + 10.00 shipping

Thanks, I didn't know you could do that.

I just received today my LWD barrel in stock length for my G20SF.
Blind Marked and Black Oxided.

When I purchased my 20sf 2 months ago I read as much as i could and watched alot of you tube vids to learn about the gun and 10mm loads.

For some reason at that time I was caught up in the Doubletap 230 grain wfngc round
.
That Hicock 45 vid of him first shooting this round out of a stock G20 barrel and then out of a LWD barrel...combined with some things I read about better overall accuracy in the LWD barrel...well...I was on the phone to LWD not long after my purchase.

I will be shooting Swamp Fox 200 grain xtp's, Swamp Fox 200 grain FMJ, Buffallo Bore 220 WPFN, and the Double tap ammo this weekend.

I guess my question would be is the LWD barrel more accurate than the stock barrel?

Dryfly, I've pretty much also decided on the same barrel as what you have... a blacked-out, blind-marked LW stock length. Anxious to see how you like yours and how your chamber support is.

Oh, and yes. The LW should be a bit more accurate, although, as always, remember that its more up to the shooter than any accessory to make DRASTIC improvements in accuracy.
