Beautiful! Love those compact 3rd Gens Smiths.
Speaking of compact and in .45acp, ... I sure didn't think I'd be liking my Colt New Agent as much as I have, but it's grown on me. Colt finally got the 3" 1911 right.
Slim-packing, fairly light, easily concealed, and it's quite accurate at the distances you'd actually use a 3" pistol for self-defense. That's basically anywhere from in-your-face to a maximum of room distance.
For me the key was getting used to acquiring a sight-picture with the trench or 'gutter'-sight system. The NA is essentially the Defender without the snaggy Novaks.
But you can get quick and accurate first-round hits IF you put in the range time and practice - same as you would with a deer rifle running a forward-mounted IER 'Scout' scope instead of a traditional receiver-mounted scope.
My 45 is a alloy framed commander 1911 but my primary carry will be a 13+1 or 15+1 40sw .
