3 1/2 years old, watching it on the B&W TV (like that mattered) in the living room way past my bedtime. My mom woke me up and said, "We have something we want you to see. It's very important." 50 years ago today!

I was barely a gleam in my Daddy's eye. Was born 2 years later.

27 years old at home in Miami, Florida. Stayed up all night. Has it really been 50 years?

    It went by quick!

17 years old working at the local outdoor theatre. We stopped the movie and people came in the concession stand to watch it on tv. Everyone was blowing their car horns and flashing their headlights.

I was 12, on vacation with my folks and younger brother, laying on the floor in the "TV room" of a resort in the Catskill Mountains, Villa Vosilla, when Commander Armstrong took that "giant leap".

Even at that young age, I knew this was an historic moment, and I was fortunate to watch it happen.

    It made a lasting impression.

I had just turned 2, so I don't remember it.

But from what my parents tell me, we were moving into a new house that day. The TV was the first thing set up. A lot of TV watching and not much moving was going on.

It was some time afterwards before I watched recorded video of the landing. Didn't have the opportunity to watch it live. Hell, I didn't even hear about it until days after it happened. It just wasn't a top priority in Phu My District, Republic of Vietnam.

I had been so busy studying that I had forgotten that it was coming up. I just happened to walk into a student lounge at Tulane in New Orleans to find a crowd around the TV. Everyone was in awe. It was stunning to think that not only had man reached the moon, but that it could be televised to earth as it happened.

I wouldn't tell that to anyone. They might think I believe it.
