Well, I just bought a K31, and have now come to realize the one problem; I can't find ammo for the freakin' thing. Anybody know of some good places to get the ammo? I tried Midway, Cabelas, and J&G, but they're running around $1/shot.

I handload all of my ammunition including 7.5X55.

If you work up a good load for them most K31s will deliver exceptional accuracy.

I usually check my coat pockets... or load some of my own.

    Congrats on a great rifle.
I usually can have my local shop order G11 or Hornady/Privi/Wolf Gold with no problem.

I recommend ammoman.com. every item they sell is listed in stock or out of stock up front, so there's no going 95% through an order just to be told your item is out of stock. Also, all their prices are what it costs to have it shipped to your door, so there's no sticker shock when check out time rolls around.

If you have nay questions you can also just call or email them, they're Jersey Boys but not in the bad way and will be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks for the quick replies, everyone. Some of those look like good sites. And btw, Myke, I mentioned Cabela's and I won't deal with CTD because of how they've jumped on the price-gouging band wagon. They may have come down on prices, but I haven't forgotten what they tried to pull in November, '08. I did forget about sportsman's guide and ammotogo, though. Thanks for those.

BTW, since the cheapest stuff appears to be Berdan primed, I was wondering: is it possible to convert a Berdan primed cartridge to Boxer primed? Couldn't you just drill out the hole a little?

Why not? Is there something I'm missing in the difference between the two primers? Boxer has the anvil built into the primer, versus a post in Berdan primed cartridges, and Boxer has one hole compared to the two in Berdan primed, right? So why couldn't you pop out the Berdan primer, remove the anvil, and put in a Boxer primer?

If it could be done there would be pages and pages of threads on how to do it.

There are folks who use spent 22 brass to swage their own bullets. So it's not from lack of interest or desire.

It is possible to reload Berdan, but you have to have a special tool to pry out the old primer and a source of new Berdan primers.

Figure it out and make a big hairy pile of money.

Ammunition to go has all the oddball stuff including Incendiary and tracers.
They have it when nobody else including Ammoman has it.
    I shop there almost exclusively.

Yup that GP11 is fine shooting stuff. Although no longer $167.00 a case, but Samcos price is fair.
