I've always liked the Type IX U-Boats, but that's probably because the U-505 is at the Museum of Science and Industry, and I always loved going there as a kid, and the U-505 was one of my favorite exhibits. They even used to let boy scout groups sleep in it overnight, back in the early-mid 90s when it was still outside. Unfortunately I was never old enough or knew the right people to get the chance to sleep in it.
