Discussion in 'General Glocking' started by Jerry X, Jan 11, 2010.
I'm located in central California and none of my local gun dealers have any Generation 4 Glocks.
Here comes the pain in 3...2...1...
Talked to my local fun store that happens to be one of the biggest Glock sellers in the country, yesterday. The clerk and I were talking about the gen 4's. He said they couldn't get any and didn't know when they would.
I'm in South Carolina, and I have only seen the G22 in the RTF.
1. You live in CA.
2. The G22 Gen4 was only released a couple weeks ago in limited quantities. Glock hasn't even made them official at the shot show yet. Relax, you'll get one eventually.
Aside from the interchangeable backstraps and a different surface treatment I just dont see what all the BS is about?? The Glock has never received more than a facelift.
They have two of the glock 22's with the RTF2 and interchangeable back straps at a local shooting range out here in Wisconsin, but they also both have the fish-scale slides. I was under the impression that the Gen 4's wouldn't have the scales, but maybe I'm wrong.
I've been told that after the SHOT show.....the Gen 4's (G22) will be "more" readily available....again...this was through the grapevine.....
I have seen the new G22 a few places here in St. Louis.
...they also have a "dual" guide/recoil spring like what the G29, G30 have....but of course longer...
Dual recoil rod is new to the full sized Glocks, sir.
How about go shoot one and then tell us what your opinion is? At least then, it would count.
The Gen4 Glocks have just recently been released.
Glock has not given an offical release time for all the Gen4 Glock models, have to wait for the SHOT show to find out.
So, give them time to be in stock with all distributors/dealers.
Also, since you live in CA. Unless you are an exempt person (LEO), then any handgun you buy from a CA FFL dealer must be on the CA DOJ approved list. Currently, none of the Gen4 Glocks are on the approved list and it is highly unlikely that they will be listed due to not having a CA DOJ approved chamber load indicator & magazine disconnect.
