    for traffic safety I dial

    •347 for FL HIghway Patrol.

All other calls I direct dial to the Sheriff office.

    Yes I called them recently.
I witness 4 teenage boys pop out a screen window.
    Climb through the window,

    OCSO came in full force.
They surrounded the house with 10-12 officers.

Apparently the boys were climbing through the window to the room of a 14 yr old girl.

The mother of the girl did not press charges against the boys.

Twice, by accident. Butt-dialed from a phone with a pre-programmed 911 button. Got rid of that phone.

I know that road well. i knew 2 people struck and killed walking on 15 growing up. were you at the AMC in rockaway?

as for 911, never. couple times called up to dispatch when I was a courtesy officer to have someone on duty come out, but I don't believe I have ever called 911.

I call once every year around Memorial Day just to say hi.

(And to confirm that the emergency call box at the neighborhood swimming pool is functional at the beginning of the pool season).

A couple years ago, or so. I called about a very reckless driver. They didn't seem to care.
Before that, it was about a half of a mobile home being dragged down the highway, losing insulation and other such nonsense. Unsecured load. They didn't seem to care much about that, either.

Last summer. A car with massive front end damage was just flying through traffic on I-15. Just screamed of a hit and run. He got bottled up right in front of us. My son got his plate number and I called it in.

I got a call back later. It was a hit and run with injuries. My info nailed the guy.

As often as once a week, but more like once every three weeks. Always for injuries / illnesses related to our employees and guests.

Several months ago I called 911. Can't remember any time before then.

One morning I looked out the kitchen window and saw 5 horses heading West down the road.
If they kept going they would shortly burst out on the main road, certainly causing crashes.

I called 911. Then I got in the car and headed after them.

When I caught up the horses had already entered a fenced in area just before the main road.
The owners of the property had closed the gate.

So I called 911 again to bring them up to date.
They said someone with animal control was on the way to try and find the owners of the horses.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I've seen some tremendous wrecks there as well. One was 4 cars with a Lincoln Navigator upside down in the median, horn stuck on.

    Yup, AMC Rockaway!

    Called a few weeks ago..

there's a lady who strolls around the neighborhood near my work.. looks to be in her 50s but i think has dementia..

she was hanging out in the park by the store i work at.. it was over 90 out.

realized she had been sitting there on the grass.. in the sun.. for at least 3 hours.

a coworker went to make sure she's ok.. i grabbed a bottle of water and joined her..

the lady was totally out of it (as usual unfortunately).. but this time even more so. i asked if i could touch her arm.. she said ok. i did, and she was burning hot yet bone dry. i'm slim and athletic yet even i was sweating from the heat after just a few minutes of this sun.

coworker and i were going to just bring her home down the street.. then i noticed her knees were bleeding.. asked her if she fell recently. she said she cut them trying to climb over our fence (normal 4ft chain link fence).. there were 2 ways in/out of the park within 30ft..

my amateur diagnosis was heat stroke.. we got her out of the sun and she drank the water like it was the last drink on earth..

the plan was to just drive/walk her home.. after realizing how bad she was.. i changed my mind and called 911.

a fire truck and ambulance arrived in a few minutes.. told them what was going on.. asked if i was overreacting.. they said i did the right thing, not a waste of time, when in doubt, call 911... etc

    she left on a stretcher..

she's still alive and roaming the neighborhood.. i saw her a few days ago and i doubt she even remembers the incident.

    Halloween last year.

About 5:00 PM, I'm driving with my 9-yo and his buddy, taking said buddy home. A newer C63 AMG sedan was driving recklessly. I took video, got the plate and called it in. The responding officer interviewed the owner but couldn't identify the driver. The owner wouldn't cooperate. Probably his kid.

I report reckless driving whenever I see it, which is luckily not very often.
