My daughter's cat had kittens about a month and a half ago, and she wants me to take one. Her mother (my daughter's, not the cat...) said it's too early to take the kittens. They're eating solid food, and the mother isn't nursing them very much anymore.

    What's the right time?

We got our two kitens at 6 weeks old. They were fine. I think 6-8 weeks is the average.
