Life/death is often measured in seconds/inches. Just think back....How many times have you just barely avoided what could be death/serious injury???

I will never forget a cross country trip. It seemed death was playing games with me. Cars loosing control, I sneak by (on ice) "closest thing I can think of is auto racing when they have accident, some cars just make it thru unscathed"
Then in N poring rain. Nasty/tireing driveing. I hear on radio the interstate bridge on MY SIDE fell down. I was 15 miles past it. (ok doing 40mph we are talking a few minutes EXCEPT I assume it took a while to get it on radio. Coulple minor accidents ahead of me. (not involved but line of site) adn then a big on in CO. Multiple cars.
I have never seen so many accidents, esp so close to me in one day.

One of the best I've read is that poor guy killed while jogging on the beach at Nags Head. A small plane making a crash landing hit him. He was the only one on the beach at the time. Now that's some bad luck!

I was gonna post this, it's not far from where my brother lives, we drive this road often. In related news, a lady from our Eastern Star Grand Chapter was killed in a hit and run on Pennsylvania ave yesterday in PG county. :(

A handful of people were seriously injured/killed by large falling concrete ceiling tiles, part of the big dig project in Boston. If only they had used union members to put them up that never woulda happened. Oh wait.....

I expected the "expert" to be the knucklehead, not the cameraman. Boy was I wrong!

So the OP article states that "The 64 year old was alone in the car and police say alcohol and speed did not play a role in the incident." Was that really needed?

A year or two ago near where I live, a couple youngsters drove out to a clearing in the woods for a little "together time" when a big tree decided to die and fall directly on their vehicle. Killed them both.

    What a way to go.

The tree in the article pic looks awfully dead and it appears to be at a residence. I wonder if the owner of the tree will face any liability from the victims family?

Im about 99% sure that's a commercial property. All the houses on this road are bajillion dollar properties, with the odd old tiny house ( also worth a bajillion now) mixed in. I think this is the shopping area near the intersection w/ Rt 7.

Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather. At times like this it's best to stay grounded with both feet firmly planted.
