There's a lot of Mickey D's memories in the thread but...anyone remember when whole potatoes were cut by hand in a hand press?

Seeing kids in full cammies riding their Schwinn Sting Ray
with a Browning Auto 5 over their shoulder.
We only looked twice to see if they had Limited!

I will still drive an indeterminate length of time for hand cut french fries. I won't eat where they sell frozen substitutes.

Saves a lot of time trying to find real food on a menu that doesn't offer any.

When you wanted some smokes, you went down to the corner store (car trunk) and asked pauly or vinny for some lucky strikes or pall malls.

Jack In the Box had a huge clown head at the drive-thru to take your order.

If you saw a kid with a machete on his belt and a rifle in his hand all it meant was: school's out for summer.

Most kid's bikes had one speed, and we couldn't break 'em no matter how hard we tried.

Homemade popcorn balls were a delicious Halloween treat.

Kid could rent a canoe for a couple bucks and paddle up and down the river all day, without feeling the need to be tweeting his "posse" the whole time.

    Penny gumball machines.

    Real toys in Cracker Jack.

Pinball machines, air-hockey and pool tables were our video games, and most of us went to the arcade or the bowling alley to play them.

Telephone exchange prefixes... BEacon4-1386 or MElrose5-9987 etc.

VWs (and Porsches) were the cars with the engines in the back.

Tyco made electric trains, not RC cars.

Walkie-talkies were AM and had a range of about to the next room.

Grandparents sat through Lost In Space with us, so we sat through Lawrence Welk with them.

When I was your age, cops made you dump out your beer and drive home.

When I was your age, a good used car went for $200, I checked your Dad's oil and aired your tires while putting premium gas in his Bonneville, we were expected to carry a pocketknife everywhere, every pickup had a window gunrack with a rifle and a fishingpole, we never locked the front door, a shag was a hairstyle, Grandads worn out Levis were just broken in to us and our discussion group was on CH19.
