I have been out for a while. Just like to catch up with folks in this forum. So, here is my question: What martial arts style are you training and what is your main gun for self defense?

As for myself: I train Taekwondo for a while now. Got my blackbelt a few years back and focus primarily on olympic style. My master is also big on Hapkido. So, he mixes up our training with a bunch of one-steps (counters, take-down, finishing strikes and/or moves).

For conceiled carry I prefer G19 or G26 + extra clip (15 rounds). For home protection I like my shotgun 12 ga.

I have my 6th Dan in Chito-ryu, 3rd Dan in Isshin-ryu(recently promoted), 5th Dan in Okinawan Kobudo, and 2nd Dan in Ch'ang Han TKD. I have been training since childhood. My father was the first to train me, Krav Maga, and then I rebelled against him and took up American Kenpo, then went on a little trek training where I could. I boxed Golden Gloves for 7 years and have trained with some Thai kickboxers. I have been around the block a few times. The Okinawan styles all lend to each other in learning the different styles. And the style of TKD I train in shares much with the Okinawan styles also. I am getting ready to go back to Kenpo, I miss it very much.

My daily carry is a Glock 17 and will soon be replaced with my G21sf, for winter time. My HD firearm is my Remmy 870.

Also-My Wife is a 4th Dan in Chito-ryu, a master level in Kenjutsu, and she trains in Tai Chi. Her only firearm is a Ruger 10/22.

I haven't trained in a few years, but I did Shorei-Ryu and plan to start up with Shorin-Ryu once I get picked up by a bigger ambulance company.

My OC gun FTM is a G19. It will also be my CCW when I get my license in early feb

I have been studying CCK Tai Chi Praying Mantis for about a year an a half.

I have studied some Nami Ryu, and spent three years studying an Okinawan karate variant.

No carry weapon....I am a second class citizen in MA and not allowed to. But I have pepper spray and a pocket knife, plus my brains to keep me out of trouble.

At home the Colt series 70 does the job.

    Tai Chi Chuan

    For home: Ruger P345
For liberal street: a cane in hand, especially when walking the dog, rarely a Tai Chi folded fan or folded-up travel umbrella in hand, but always a knife and pepper-sprayer within reach.
