Hi all,

I just put 3.5# connectors and did the .25 trigger job on my glocks. The 22 is a night stand gun I always have available at home and the 23/27 I carry.

If (God forbid) I ever had to defend myself, is there any precedence that has been set where this mod would be a concern?

Thanks for the input!

Not if you have a NY1 trigger spring.

(search Ayoob, & 3.5 connector)

ArcAngel,
I wondered the same thing. I am changing mine over because I can shoot them so much better. I have not changed my Gen4 G27 or my G36 because of this concern. They are my CC pistols. I will check with some LE folks tomorrow and see what they say. I do know the blue label guns(G34 and G35) do not come with '-'connectors.

I would personally strongly recommend using a NY1 spring with a "minus" connector for any Glocks utilizing a "minus" connector for self-defense/carry; even more so for a nightstand gun, where almost by definition there's an excellent chance that you'll be attempting to use the gun when transitioning from a slumber-to-alert status, with a high liklihood of dulled senses and clumsieness during the transition-the light triggerpull with the negligable take-up inherent to the "minus" connector with the coil triggerspring is rife with potential for an inadvertant/negligant discharge.

The NY1 will give you a more resistant, constant triggerpull (and a more defined reset point, but that's not the issue here).

Best, Jon

I have seen court cases for LEOs that hinged on triggers, but none so far for civilans. Maybe someone knows of a case or two, but it also depends on the laws where you live. If your state has castle doctrine similar to Michigan's, then a good SD shoot is a good SD shoot.

I'd check your state laws to see if you have such statutes defending you.

Mine certainly did (i.e., came with the 4.5 lb "minus" connector and Glock adjustable sights).

However, in fairness, I suspect that the Blue Label LEO guns that your dealer/distributer has are probably mirroring the LEO trigger and sight preferences prevelant in their areas-which in a G34/G35 are probably going to have a high liklihood of being with the 5.5lb standard connector and fixed polymer sights (or Glock nightsights).

Best, Jon

Thanks Jon, I'll try the NY1 out.

My personal apologies for resurrecting a beaten horse when clearly I should have searched more.

I thought the change in seasons may have altered the opinion on this subject.

Thanks Jon.
They have adjustable rears. I thought all Blue labels 34 &35's came that way.
So it is dealer specific? Or they can still get them with '-' connectors.

I don't get what all this polish and 3.5# connector stuff people keep trying to do to their ccw weapons.

if you ever find yourself in a situation where you are going to have to shoot someone to defend yourself or another, i don't think it's going to matter whether you have a 2#, 3#, 5#, 12# trigger. you're probably not going to notice, you're just going to pull that trigger like you've pulled it numerous times when you practice and train. it will go bang when you pull it. i once had someone time me with a glock 17 with 33-rd mag with stock 5.5# connector and a NY1 and the NY1 wasn't even more than a second longer to dump the 33rd mag.

practice and train and it won't matter what trigger you have in there, double action, single action, double action only, LEM, DAK, SRT, etc. etc. if you practice and train, when you pull that trigger, it'll go bang.

/rant off. just tired of seeing this dead horse...

here is my opinion (read opinion, not fact)
God forbid I ever have to defend my life and justifiably have to fire my gun, but if I do, I want it to have a first class functioning weapon. For me, that first class functioning weapon will have a minus connector in it if I'm carrying a Glock at that moment. I shoot 1000s of rounds with a minus connector in both my G36 and G17, why would I want to carry a gun that is different.

Additionally, my gun has never gone off because of the minus connector; it only goes off when I pull the trigger. The trigger only gets pulled if my finger is on it. My finger is only on the trigger if I'm pointing at something I intend to shoot.

I think this is a good discussion and worth discussing.

Well put, I have always installed 3.5's in my glocks and carried them. I am more accurate with a 3.5 and my finger is not on the trigger unless I plan to kill/ destroy it...
