Always liked it, not because of the BS today. Thought it covered part of the imperfect mess that has made the great country we are today.

Signed, the person called a "Racist" on another thread.

So many great movies have been listed. Can't really pick just one.

I like the series "The Pacific"

I have read Eugene Sledges "With The Rare Breed" and all about Chesty Puller when I was growing up many times.

I growed up with veterans from both Theaters.

Thank God for them all, and thanks to all veterans and especially our active service vets now. :waving:

Such a hard question. I have to go with From Here To Eternity....I think what the movie really did a good of was showing how a bunch of normal people rose to meet a challenge..

I like the mention of They Were Expendable. Great show.

I'd love to see a well-made movie or series about Bataan and Corregidor. Those guys were true heroes. Outnumbered, outgunned, abandoned, on empty stomachs, and they held on for months.

I'm also a fan of Glory.

    Zero Dark Thirty.

    Taking Chance.

Taking Chance is what I watch when I start to lose hope.

My son have same views. Original Red Dawn is much more patriotic but newer one is faster pace. A couple patriotic movies we definitely agree on: Lone Survivor and American Sniper.

    The original Red Dawn.

Saw it in a movie theatre when in first came out, in the town next to the AFB where I was stationed at the time. Theatre was full of AF people. In the scene on the mountain top, where the Russians came to look at the scenery, they got into a firefight with guns and bows from the kids who were just trying to survive (at that time). Patrick Swayze's character points a Colt SAA at the young Russian's head. The theatre fell absolutely quiet...you could hear a pin drop. Then someone...probably an Airman...yelled "Shoot that Communist Son of a B...H!"

    BANG!

And the crowd went wild. Very memorable. :flag:
