Post your action movie gun pet peeve, I'll start with mine.

I can't stand hearing "trained" LE and special ops [actors] rack their slides when the "situation" gets tense! Oh my gosh, please! What trained professional doesn't have one already in the chamber when they are on a mission?

My biggest action movie pet peeve is that most action movie stars are anti-gun!

Any clicking noises in general, showing a gun wasn't ready to shoot.

Posing for close-up, running around holding the pistol up a few inches from the race.

Old westerns where they hide behind a wagon wheel during a shootout. No way you can hit me now, lol.

    You stole mine.

Funny when citizens ask if you carry one in the chamber... "Uh, YEAH!"

The movies are reality for so many folks, its scary. LE can shoot someone attacking them with a knife, and citizens genuinely believe the cops should have just performed their non-lethal ninja moves instead of shooting the perp. CRAZY!

    *end of rant*

Someone mentioning the safety on a Glock or Sig or other pistol with no thumb safety. Unlimited capacity mags. People flying backwards when shot. People dying instantly when shot in the torso. Anytime an actor is portraying someone who is supposedly a well trained LEO or operator and it's painfully obvious they have zero idea what they are doing.

These 2 are definitely it for me.

-Everything clicks. Un-holster the gun...click, raise the gun...click, turn right....click, turn left.....click, ugh!

-I'm in the middle of a firefight, with hundreds of bad guys around me shooting at me. I run up on someone and rack the slide, or pump the shotgun......wait, you mean in that insane of a situation you didn't already have one chambered???? Are you a moron!?

And to add to the gun not ready to fight.....

When you see someone with their gun aimed at someone from 5ft away, while giving a long speech. Then 2minutes into the speech they rack the slide to get the other person's attention, and to let them know they are serious now. ......wait, so this whole time you were talking with the gun aimed at me, I could have just fought back since you weren't ready?

The list is too long to type, but have to say, the only movie and actor I have zero problems with was Tom Cruise in 'Collateral'. There is a mini documentary on YouTube where it detailed the 4 months he spent preparing and training, so he actually looked like he was as good as the character he portrayed.

The best I ever watched was Barnaby Jones being shot at from a rooftop by a criminal with a high powered rifled who misses. Barnaby spotting the guy immediately shoots from the hip with his snub nose .38 and drops the guy.

Lately I’ve seen a lot of scenes where the AR-15 is missing the rear carry handle or not have an optic. But it has the front post.

The US Navy. Our son retired from the US Navy as a MA. Once they chamber a round, they're in C1 on a mission.
