I've been trying to locate an Advantage Arms 22 LE kit for my glock 22. They only sell these to dealers and after checking NUMEROUS dealers locally and on the internet, even the dealers say at least 14 weeks to 1 year waiting list. Some sites say to place an order to get on the list of 400, some even 500 waiting. Are they a small company, if that many dealers waiting nationwide, you'd think they would gear up. Dealer sells them for 259, one or 2 people asking 400. Just eriks me, I'll wait a year before I pay the extra ransom money.

They have gained a ton of popularity since centerfire ammo has gotten expensive and hard to find. Like other companies they are most likely running three shifts and doing the best they can to keep up with demand. Many companies are hesitant to build a new facility or buy more machines since the the boom could stop as quickly as it started.

Every other day someone asks this question...

Yes, they are a small company who obviously can't keep their supply up with the demands. They apparently aren't open all day, every day. Like you said, you're limited to finding one used and paying dearly for it, getting on a waiting list, or just waiting. There's a new company that will be making them for the 17 and 22 but with a significant cost increase.

    Original thread here: Rimfire Conversions

It's almost $100 more and the only differences I see are a 14 round mag instead of 10 and the slide is steel rather than aluminum. Or if you pay yet another $100 you can get a threaded barrel. With AA you could get an extended barrel for some models for $65 and have it threaded. People will pay it if they can keep up with demand. Advantage Arms would be wise to sink some extra money into production and get quickly caught up before these new ones come out.

I'd keep a close eye on the want ads here. I saw one just the other day. Gunbroker is another good option but you'll pay more. Keep calling dealers and check gun shows. I saw a couple a few weeks ago. Good luck!

I love my AA kit on my 30. I can afford to shoot .22LR by the hundreds where otherwise I was limited to the amount of .45

    Call these people:

    Bigstatedist.com
    972-446-4774

They had about 4 kits at last weeks gun show. Not sure if they have A kit for the G22, but worth a call.

What I did is found a dealer website that allowed you to get on an email notification list. When they had inventory you would get an email.

The first time I got an email, they where already out of stock once I checked. The next time I was on the internet and rushed right over, ordered and got one for my 19. It is the bomb and well worth the trouble of finding one.

    Good luck.

There's a couple on gunbroker, a little pricey though.

We Are Not Expecting To Have Any Kits In

Stock Anytime In The Near Future.

WE ARE NOT MAKING A KIT FOR THE XD AND HAVE NO PLANS

They're hard to find due to popularity. I have one for my Glock 30SF (Which was a hard kit to find) and absolutely love it. It's easy to see why they are so popular. Eventually they will catch back up and you'll be able to get one.

Going to the web site now shows the picture above with a SHIPPING IN JUNE ORDER NOW caption without a price and it is not listed in the catalog to be ordered.

    We apologize for the inconvenience,
but the Customer Service Email System is currently unavailable.

Supply and demand really. I ordered one back in October right from AA and just got it this week. It is a great way to practice trigger control on the cheap.

These looked cool, but I didn’t really feel like going on a waiting list for who knows how long, so I went and ordered a Sig Mosquito. Sig makes 22 uppers for their P226 and P229 guns. Be cool if Glock did that.

I have posted my experience several times...
...this is just one more time...
...I placed my order for a kit for my G19...
    ...on February 15, 2009...
    ...February 15, 2009...
    ...February 15, 2009...
    ...February 15, 2009...
    ...I am still waiting...
...I missed the opportunity to place a re-order last Fall...
...it irks me that people who ordered last October...
    ...have received theirs before me...
...I have verified that my order was not lost...
...I am supposed to be in-line to get mine...
    ...someday...
...I get an e-mail every Sunday morning thanking me for my patience...
...I have considered buying one from the other offers posted here...
...but I have reached the point where I don't want to cancel my original order...
...and I want to see just exactly how long it is going to take...
...I have NEVER had anything on backorder that took over a year to arrive...
...but the first time is just around the corner...

Where did you order from? If it was right from AA, you should call and complain. They quoted on the website 12-14 weeks when I ordered and they were right on.

But why do you have to order from a dealer now for the Glock kits, but you can order a 1911 kit right from AA? :sigh:

Yeah, they're almost impossible to find right now new. But you don't have to spend $400 to find one either. I posted a WTB ad about two weeks ago and ended up buying 4 kits. Look for a used one, you'll find one.
